Well.. got a stockpile of dvd-r (4cos - and thay said they where stable at 4xspeed on pioneer 106 at firmware 107 - blah :( ) - BUT my pioneer 106 would be happy to burn at 3xspeed (according to neros dvd speed mesurement) - but nero only do 2xspeed or 4xspeed - so... is there any software ot there that will do 3x speed ?

Nero will only display 2x or 4x without the patch to show actual write speed. The speed is not constant and is usually dictated by the load on the system and the max speed of the media in combination with the firmware of the burner.

Is burning at 4x too much for your system? I'm confused as to why you would want to burn at 3x instead.

Nero 5.5.9.0 on my system alows for 3x burning speed on 4x media with my Pioneer DVDR-105. Surprised the hell out of me! I can chose 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x.

Just because you can see a 3x burning speed in the slection does NOT mean it will burn at 3x. The Pioneer 106 has 3 speeds buit in for burning, 1x, 2x and 4x. It does not suport any other speed of burning. If 4x doesnt work for you then you only choice is 2x (or 1x !!)

oh well ..
Thx for all the nice answerers..

after trying 8 different programs - i found out that the problem is somehow different.
Its when i try to produce a dvd production (multimedia design) - it starts to block and hang after about 1 hour of movie on these medias - even on 1 speed writing.
On my Ritek medias - no problem - but on these 4cos ..... blah
