I copy a dvd with dvdx copy and it will freeze at random stages on my stand alone.

When i convert avi to dvd I use ulead to convert to iso file
Then I mount it using Alcohol 120 virtual drive
Then burn it using dvdx copy.

They play just fine on the pc but both freeze in the stand alone.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome. Sounds like bad media. What media are you using? Try this program DISCInfo and tell us who makes your media. Also did you check out your DVD player out at dvdrhelp.com to see what it can play? Let us know how you make out.:)

wtf

Well ummmm

My problem has somewhat developed into a state of My Computer not displaying either of the rom drives.

They appear in device manager but yellow exclamation marks and error 37 stating driver/s cant be initialised. I have tried uninst and reinst through device manager but to no avail.

My specs are...
Pentium 4 3ghz - Gigabyte 8ik1100 mobo - Corsair 512MBx4 xms pro ram - GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 256MB vid card - Audigy2 sound card - 120gb seagate hdd sata - Pioneer dvd writer 106d - Samsung dvd SD 616Q reader

I agree about freezing. It could be the media. Try using some ritek g04 for the best compatability. As for the drives missing. Does your mobo require special ide drivers. If so try uninstalling and use the microsoft ones with the OS. It's a place to start debuggging.

OK drive problem fixed and thank you very much for this assistance.

I have purchased some TDK DVD+R 1-4x discs
I rip a dvd to my hdd using dvd decryptor (file system)
Then I use dvd shrink to backup and burn with nero 5.5 to the TDK's

None of them will play on my Toshiba SD-1300Y player. All I receive is disc error and please check disc.

Its starting to get expensive now. :(

Thanks again for all your help.

@ StumpY!,

Visited DVDRHelp site located at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ and the Toshiba SD-1300Y player doesn't have very goods reviews.

Some DVD stand-alone desktop players do not play DVD+R disk. As suggested you might want to try top of the line DVD-R media in your Toshiba SD-1300Y and see what happens.

Coaster
