nokia 3310 sim problems

Please can you help me with this prob ive got. Turn phone on and all i get is:
SIM card registration failed. the sim card still has all the information but I cant get a signal anywhere.(vodaphone)

go to voda, they should give u another sim.

did you try changing the sim or unlocking the fone for this to happen or did it just happen???
and is the fone unlocked so you can try an other sim???

Been away on hols, so only just read replies.
Found out what was wrong, phone turned out to be stolen !
So they had blocked phone and card.
