noise on cold boot, help

I have intel gb850 mothreboard and p4 cpu, lately when I start the computer for the first time(cold boot) it makes a noise like jet is flying and after w2k loads it stops and quiet. I changed my pwer supply too, but no change. I think the noise comes from the fan on the cpu. Please give me some help, what should I do?
thanks

Make sure that you are not hearing a CD spinning up. Double check that the CD drive is empty. Do you hear the noise at any other times, other than when you first start the machine? For instance, when you open Windows Explorer.

Some computer cases were designed by engineers who were pissed of that they didn't invent the Rubix Cube and are now trying to get even. If you are able to get in (do it when the machine is NOT running) then turn the beast on. Before touching anything electronic in the case, Touch bare metal of the case frame. Then see if by stopping the processor fan (press down on the round center portion where the fan blades come together) the noise disappears. Stopping the fan briefly (a second or two) won't hurt anything.

before you open the case useful make sure your warranty has run out and if it hasnt dont open the case if there is a "security" sticker across one edge of the box.

if your warranty has not run out get your supplier to sort it out for you, if you open the case with your warranty in force and you breach the security sticker and they wont touch it.
