No source signal problem

Did you install the needed capture driver/codec (Pinnacle CD) or does your PCI card use an hooked up hardware encoder?

Can you try you VCR and your adapter at a friends PC?
Or link your VCR via your adapter to a firends VCR (S- Video in).
so you will see if the adapter is the trouble maker or your PC is the culprit;

instead of MyDVD you can also try < VirtualDub > for capturing so you can exclude an software error;

No source signal

Unfortunately no way of connecting to other source.

Re-installed Pinnacle card. No change

Dowloaded and tried Virtual dub, same result, still showing black and white, with no sound, I think it must be the connector, seems I'll have to get another. :mad:

what format are you sourcing from pal or ntsc !?

maby needs switching about with the screen modes !?

or you scart may not be FULLY WIRED/wired correctly to take the relevant signals to the computer !?

can you output and input in COMPOSITE to see if you can get a signal through in this way !?

sure not the greatest method but least you know that its not a faulty card !?

Did you once all was set up run your capture card (In Tune Mode) or scan to find the right signal for your VCR?.
If not you need to do this and make sure VCR is turned on and set it's test to on so you can pick up the signal on the capture card...
Hope that works for you.

No tv aerial conncted, tuned to channel 52 for vcr playback OK. Tried to record from that. Rubbish.

Got block Scart Adaptor with 3 Phono and 1 S-Vhs socket, used an S-VHS to S-VHS lead.

Using JVC S-VHS vcr recorder.

No composite imput on capture card.
