no sound

i have no sound with dvds in media player9 audio cd have sound just not dvds.is there a fix for it?

sorry for the late reply;
M$ Media Player isn't a good choice for DVD playback; try WinDVD or PowerDVD, they are made for that; they often came bundled with VGA cards or other devices;

Nero Showtime Is another option.
Bundelled with NERO 6.0.0.0 and above

Windows Media Player is not good software, but still WAY better than Nero Showtime. Obviously WMP lacks the necessary codecs to playback DVD, and some sort of security software (XPAntispy? Evedience Eliminator? whatever...) has disabled WMP's auto codec downloading...
