No Sound "Need help"

Hi guys,
I have an AVI-file which I want to burn on an DVD +RW. I have tried many times using two different methods but without any result.

First I tried to convert the AVI-file to DVD using ChickenMans' tutorial "AVI/DivX to DVDR Tutorial ", but when I burned the resulting VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS on an DVD+R, the movie had no sound (I use Nero Ultra edition 6.6.0.1)!!!

Then a friend of mine told me to use Cucusoft AVI-to-DVD-(S)VCD converter, because it was very easy to use. I purchased this software and tried to reconvert my AVI file to DVD-format. As result I got three working files *.m2v, *.mpa and *.mpg (so far so god)

Then I used IfoEdit to Convert the resulting *.m2v (movie) and *.mpa (sound) to DVD-format (i.e. IFO and VOB files). But when the process was finished the resulting movie had no sound neither.

When I try to watch the movie from IFOEdit I get the error message "No valid DVD-Video volume could be located".
It seems that I miss some audio Codec!! What do you think??

VirtualDub tels me that the audio format of the original AVI-file is MPEG Layer 3

Can you please tell me what's going on!! Why my VIDEO_TS has no sound??

My PC runs Win XP Home edition

// Thanks

Hi,
the answer is yes. The original AVI file has sound. I run GSPot on the original file and get the following log:

--------------------------------------------------------------
Audio Format:
Code: 0x0055
Name: WAVE_FORMAT_MPEGLAYER3 (MP3)
Vendor: ISO/MPEG

The following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:

--> {Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (advanced)}
--> {Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (professional)}
--> {MPEG Layer-3 Decoder}

DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for
this media clip should work fine.

See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

------------------------------------------------------------

Video:

The following codecs all claim to be capable of processing this format:

{DivX Decoder Filter}
{ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder}
{DivX Decoder Filter}
{3ivx D4 Video Decoder}

DirectShow is apparently able to play the file as well (see "DirectShow Render", below),

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rendering Successful:

DirectShow claims to be able to play the file. The following combination of filters were used:

{C:\Documents and Sett..-..\homeMovie_1.avi} (Source)
{AVI Splitter} (Splitter)

{DivX Decoder Filter} (Video Decoder)
{Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)

{MPEG Layer-3 Decoder} (Audio Decoder)
{Default DirectSound Device} (Audio Renderer)
