I have install ASUS E616 DVD-ROM drive together with ASUS A7N8X deluxe motherboard and 64MB sapphire Radeon 9100 Graphics card.

I have sound on the motherbord from E616 DVD-ROM drive but no sound from the headphone jack on the front panel.

I have mount the Audio Cable but no sound coming from the headphone jack

have any the same problem??

If you are set for DIGITAL Playback (eg. Windows Media Player can show visual effects) the drive headphone socket will not work.

If you are talking about a front panel (CASE) socket, this is merely a kludge that has to be cables to the sound card, taking up the normal speaker connection - a few cheap speakers seem to have headphone sockets on them, but not seen the feature on anything larger.

If the soundcard has no amplifier, it may not be capable of driving headphones directly - and most current soundcards do NOT have onboard amplifiers, as it's rare to find un-amplified PC speakers these days.

I have a ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard

do I need to connect the Audio Cable to the CD1 (Black) connector or the FPAUDIO1 connector on the motherboard

to use the headphone

Definitely yes, and you also have to disable digital output via device manager.
