"no more irp stack locations" error message with BSOD

i perused internet & MS TECHNET
but i haven't found a solution

keep testing different components
so i removed the newly installed dvd
everything back to "normal" - no more BSOD

have i exasperated XP PRO's capacity to handle hardware changes?
must do clean install?

any ideas?

poss solution (increase "IRPStackSize")

try increasing this value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters\IRPStackSize

(maybe another "IRPStackSize" elswhere... search for it and add to that also)

i had decimal 11 and changed it to decimal 16

no more BSOD for me:)

ps: not sure what this does, just seemed to work for me! (not my fault if your pc starts giving birth to rabbits)
