No Encoded_Audio_1.MP2 file.

G'day guys
Having previously, successfully, produced VCD,SVCD, and DivX, following CM's Tutes, I am now at a loss as to why I fail due to the Encoded_Audio_1.MP2 files not being produced....
After searching this and doom9 forums I could not see what was different than B4
I eventually had success using the built-in ripper of DVD2SVCD or VSTRIP yet smartripper at V2.41 apparently failed..
The only upgrade I have is DVD2SVCD at 1.1.3 b2, can't see where the problem lies.
Currently only trying to produce VCD....
with Athlon 1800+ and using
Smartripper at 142
TMPEnc at +2.5
Might be old-age but,
I have difficulty understanding the responses of some 'expert' comments in the forums, but thought I had a reasonable handling after the success with CM's excellent explanations...Where am I going astray?

Sounds like your doing everything right. Just remember though, all DVD's are different and there will always be an odd occasional one that DVD2SVCD cant handle or even Smartripper (although I have onely ever found 1 that smartripper could not rip correctlty). When these problems occur from time to time, its then time to get out the gray matter and find a solution.

As you found, the inbuilt ripper does work, I just prefer to see the VOB ripped files before I start converting as the rippoing is never done at the time of conversion for me. Almost always I run in Batch mode and its easier with a prior rip.

DVD Decrypter is also a good alternative to SmartRipper and I tend to be using it more and more & SmartRipper less and less.

I do try and keep my explainations to "layman" language however it not always possible. Glad to here the Tutes have been working for you though.

Thanks for the rapid response CM, have been experimenting since your reply, and DVD decrypter did indeed work ...
Now I would like to find out why smartripper didn't
Will watch the log files a bit longer in future.
Thanks again
