Newbie with VCD Audio problem

Hi all

I hope someone can help me with this :-

I created a PAL VCD compliant file from Ulead MPS 7.
This file plays ok with all media players on my PC.
I burned it to CD using the VCD project in Nero 6.
The VCD I created plays ok in Windows Media Player on my PC but when I play it on my standalone DVD player the audio sounds like it has been slowed down. The video is fine.
Is this what is known as a "sync problem". ??

An old thread from ChickenMan mentioned an alternative to Nero but the link he gave had expired.

Cany anyone help me please ?????????

I assume your souce was PAL also and you havnt converted an NTSC to PAL.

I never ever had a problem with Nero burning VCD's and causing sync problems, I suggest the mpg file has problems in the first place. If you play the mpg before burning with WMP or WinDVD, does it play okay ?

An alternative to Nero (Nero 6 sucs big time !, use 5.5.x anyway) is VCDEasy. You can get the last free version 1.1.5.2 from http://freewareportal.de/site/programme/audio_11.htm or just about any Tucows site.

Thanks to both Duracell and ChickenMan.

I did in fact also post this question in the (S)VCD section.

I have since found that one of the settings on my standalone DVD player was the cause of the problem.
(Not sure which one cos like a rube I pulled all the wires !!!!)
