First I'd like to say hi to everyone. I'm new to your forum and could use some advice. Let's start with a little background and then get to the problem. I've burnt many a cd in my time audio,pc games, and ps1 games using cdrwin and psxcopy. Last Christmas I bought myself a ps2 modchip(magic 3 with clip). I knew it would be more difficult to install than a ps1 chip but I had installed a few of those for myself and freinds with no problems. I installed my ps2 chip following the online guide but the system wouldn't work right. I then looked at the guide for the chip without the clip and noticed the +5v solder connection was different in the two. I switched the connection according to the guide without the clip even though I was using the clip and it seemed to work fine. I didn't have any ps2 backups at the time just ps1 backups and those loaded up no problem. Since that time my life has been busy very little time to play games let alone put a pc together capable of burning dvd's. Well last week all the pieces came together and I brought my creature to life and threw my hat into the dvd ring. I used xcopy to backup some movies in my collection and was able to play them on my ps2. I then found your forum and followed advice in other threads before posting, knowing not to ask questions already answered. I downloaded both Record now max and dvd decrypter and following psx_paul's tutorials I made a coaster with each(Splashdown/Rides Gone Wild). Red screen came up please insert a ps1 or ps2 format disc. Could this be a problem with my burning technique(followed tutorial),my pc hardware(verbatim/nec2.4xdvd+r/rw) or my chip installation. Any help would be welcome. I remember making quite a few coasters when I first started burning cd's before getting it right and would like to skip that painful process this time around.

problem solved

Sorry guys, my bad. Both copy methods work fine. Checked psx_paul's site again and looked in boot methods. I was holding reset button til blue light came on like I would with ps1 backups. A single tap and they both loaded up just fine. I'm gonna have to destroy one now as I can't give it away. Thanks psx_paul I should have dug a little deeper first time around.

Glad to hear that you got things working in the end :)
