 Hi to everyone who will help someone who is struggling to make an image of a disk with safedisc v2.51 copy protection. I've gone through the begginers guide and put new ASPI and checked it + disabled IMAPI. Then tried to create an image with ALC120 selecting safedisc2/3. Away it goes but in the window message I get (disc read error at 813,..825,...852,..etc
I'm trying to read them with my dvd burner ! PIONEER DVD104 or ASUS DRW-0402p/d or TEAC CD-W540E(cd burner) all give same read error message !
What am I doing wrong , please help stupid newbie....

The read errors ARE the protection.Once the read gets through this area the read will speed up.It could take awhile so be prepared. Is there a fast error skip option,it will help.Use the Teac..it think is your best chance of getting a working backup.Let us know how it goes.

as suggested use the TEAC using alcohols safe disk 2 settings just leave it to read it all in and dis-regard the errors they are sposed to be there as per woodys statement :)

may take some time but should work fine just burn using the safedisk 2 settings in alcohol :)

dvd burners do not tend to be great at cd protections or reading protected cds in that fast :(

i know my 107 is pretty damn slow for even safedisk 1 so i just use my toshiba dvd rom or my plextor burner to read or read and then burn :)

If ALL your drives to read the copy in are writers, you will have to use something which can hide the ATIP (Alcohol / CloneCD) otherwise it will KNOW it's a copy, even if you got the procedure 100% right.

Reading the original in a writer - no problem, as it has no ATIP, not being recordable media.

http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Articles/Specific.asp?ArticleHeadline=TEAC+CD-W540E+CD-RW&index=3 - the Teac is a VERY slow SafeDisk 2 reader

http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Articles/Specific.asp?ArticleHeadline=TEAC+CD-W540E+CD-RW&index=7 - the Teac W540 requires CloneCD "Amplify weak sectors" (or Alcohol's "Bypass EFM error") to handle Safedisk 2 2.51
