Thanks zver!

Winamp.com is a little slow on the update most of the time. But, Winamp Heaven (zver's link) is a safe bet banzi. ;)

I've installed and have been playing with it for the last few hours.... works great! Version is shown as 2.92 June 2, 2003. Perhaps all the ruckus with Justin Frankel's leaving, this release was delayed.

Also..... there is a little curious wordage at the Winamp Heaven site. "Extra special superduper thanks to Justin Frankel & Mouse for Winamp 2.92". So perhaps it was Justin who leaked this as a little snipe at AOL TimeWarner. Or perhaps a big "thank you" to all his loyal supporters/fans. ;)

I guess that Justin Frankel will release from now on his OWN Winamp versions- provided that he is legally allowed to do so, which will not be surprising! :D

Let's hope so, i love version 2, but version 3 is just so bad & crashes constantly:(

& ver 2 it loads like lightning 2:)

BaNzI:D

I hope so too, and anway there is also the exhellent Foobar2000 as an alternative... but I must confess that i hate to use Notepad as a multimedia player! :p And there is also WMP Clasic which is great stuff (but it won't support any format that doesn't have DirectShow filters), DBPoweramp which is as ugly as an app can be (Foobar is simply gorgeous compared to this thing...) and that little Russian gem, LIghtAlloy, which is simply superb, but sorely enough it's shareware...

zver: give a go to LightAlloy. I was "almost" tempted to buy it...
It's not the best for audio playback, but as a combined multimedia player it's simply superb, and as light on resources as it can take.

lightalloy2.4!!

Downloaded yesterday....its very good ""allmediaplayer""..And ultralight--really...But really lacks audiosupport for compressed audiofiles--and not even one lossless formats:mad: Neverthles its a great videoplayer--and as that will be on my pc couse is simply great---nice mouse-keyboard commands---btw,is it any place for plugins for audiofiles--so i could have aac and mpc support for example???its a bit lighter then winamp and loads a bit faster too..But no support for audiocds(cddb-freedb???)....Needs some work more--if somebody wo9uld ask me?:)
