Software nothing more. Most of the MP3 software is either crap or you can find on the internet. Go for the Gamer if you want the games.busto said:What's the difference between the Audigy gamer and the Audigy MP3??
But this is NOT a serious card for Professional audio. Its great for games and mp3 though. A serious Pro audio card will cost you $200-300 at a minimum. And the price goes up from there depending on features.soundforbjt said:I'm not sure where you're at, but the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz can be had in the US for $60.00. Cheaper than Creative.
PCI modem? Very strange...XP must be detecting it incorrectly.busto said:thanks guys....i got a great deal on the Audigy gamer so i took it so far i seemed to have worked out all the bugs...At first XP kept saying I installed a PCI Modem and it kapt wanting to install it but i just disabled it in the device manager screen and it stopped doing it but now i have it in there with a big X through it anyone know how to get rid of that??....Also anyone know how to turn off the sound it makes at start up right after the windows start up sound??
busto said:I tried to uninstall it but it tells me i can't uninstall it...what that's about I don't know. I disabled it and it doesn't give me any problems....
Are you seeing anything when it "chimes in" (ie, a Creative Audigy popup)?....the sound is like a start up wav, I've looked and can't find where it is to disable it..It chimes in right after the windows start up wav...The thing that troubles me about it is that it seems to slow mey log on time a tad nothing major just like 30 seconds longer
Did you disable onboard audio in the BIOS?!?! Your PCI bus is more that just your PCI slots on your motherboard. Its possible that this old device is being recognised incorrectly. Just a thought.busto said:I had onboard before the Audigy...and i've never had anything in a PCI slot on this motherboard maybe that has something to do with it but doubtful....
Try looking in msconfig/startup and see if there is something there (sorry I don't remember what its called...but I only use minimum drivers on my Audigy as I don't like all the extra crap that installs).I don't see anything special when it chimes in because it happens right before my log on screen goes to my desktop in XP
No chimes or popup window (but then again you are not seeing it anyway) with just the the driver install.busto said:I disabled my onboard before my install...so with the minimal install you don't get the fancy chimes?....maybe i'll yank it out and reinstall it with just the drivers
