New Plex Owner - Plex Tools & Plex manager Difference?

Hello,

I just bought a used Plextor drive that did not have the installation CD with it. I have located most (if not all) of Plextors software. I have programs called Plextor Manager, Plextools, CDRinfo, & PXInfo.

1) What is the difference in these?

2) Is the software outdated & is the Plextor Manager still included with new drives?

3) What Plextor software is installed by default from the factory Plextor CD?

4) What 3rd party software (if any) comes with Plextor drives?

Thanks for helping

European customers have Plextools with their hardware.....American customers get Plextor Manager with their hardware....:)
Plextools is much more sophisticated for audioburning/ripping,and the latest versions also introduced the ability to rip protected cd's...

EZCD is now bundled with new plextor drives because of their new vari-rec system. It enables you to intensify or lower the laser strength to make your audio cd's more compatible with cd players. Using the vari-rec will only allow you to burn at 4x though.

you are kiddin me aint ya BLANE lol why on earth do plextor lower themselves to that ?! lol

they bundled winoncd with my first plex and nero with my second !!? what next NO SOFTWARE lol lol lol !? talk about going backwards lol !:D

VARI rec works with other software too people so dont leap for easy cd cremator just yet ! :)

Hey Viper, I don't like EZCD at all. But , I have tried the vari-rec with the laser strength up a notch and it does make the audio sound a bit richer. When I first got the plex drive I did two exact cd's. One with and one without the vari-rec. Didn't use the home stereo. Jumped right in the car and tried it there. The cd I used the vari-rec on sounded better. Even had a friend of mine listen to both cd's without telling him and he said the same. Of course I wanted to hate the EZCD prog because it had effed up some of my cd's in the past but, this actually worked.
