Hey, just stumbled upon this forum looking to find an answer to this question: is my burner dead? Posted over the Hardware forum.

Also just purchased a new NEC 8x Dual Format burner over at newegg.com for 100 bucks - pretty good deal imo. I'd be interested to hear any opinions any of you have on it if you have also purchased it.
