APPARENTLY ITS A LITEON !?
in disguise !?
heres the review from this link above

I am continuously amazed by the reviews I’ve read on sites such as ZDNET and CNET (both are actually the same review), they just never get it right. The Memorex 52x is a lite-on in disguise and as with most lite-on burners, the major interest to the consumer besides speed is its ability to over-burn but first let’s address some of the negative points in the review. The quick-start-guide according to the reviewer along with other documentation was inadequate to meet the need of the inexperienced. If the average user can’t install a CD rom with the included guide then all the documentation on earth won’t get them through and they should have it done professionally. I never even looked at the guide I just pulled it out of the box, locked it in, wired it, installed the software, and in 20 minutes it was up and running. It doesn’t get in easier than that! Is it the fastest? Close enough, while it is true that a few of the 48X units do as well if not a little better in speed checks, speed it not the only reason for purchasing the unit. Did you try to compare its ability to burn a 90 minute plus CD with the other burners or for that matter with this one? Thought not! Well give it a try and then you’ll know why you should reconsider the rating you gave it. This little gem has over-burned up to 99 minutes worth of music on a CD that worked in every home unit it was played in. Now for the best part, it only cost me $68.

so you got a bargain if this is true !?
