nero wave editor help req

i have an mp3 file that is one long file that has to be split into
what was a whole lp so i want to split them i tried in editor to highlite the track but when i save their is either no sound or it saves the whole lp again not the single track what am i doing wrong how do i do it right step by step please

it is as eay as this:
1.- Make a backup of the file in case sth goes wrong.
2.- Open your sound editor and open the file.
3.- Select just the portion that includes song #1 and choose CUT, not copy.
4.- Open a blank file by clicking on the "white sheet" or File - New
5.- This stupid wave editor (Nero) asks you what to do the original file. So tell it to save it and then a new file opens.
6.- Click on paste and song # 1 will be pasted. Save that file.
7.- Open the original archive and cut song # 2 and so on and so forth.

Hope this will help you out :).
I´ll be out for three days so I wont be able to answer you back if you are in doubt.
Maybe someone will in case you didnt get the knack of it.

its easier than that,
load the MP3 into nero as if you were going to burn as audio, double click the track and the properties box opens up, click the index limits and splits tab. nero loads the file, now you can zoom in and click at the end of each tack and choose split, when finished click OK and nero splits it up into the tracks, burn as normal.
if its a mix album you can highlight all tracks and again choose properties and set pause to zero, this will then burn as one track but with the tracks selections still available

i cant get the hang of nero to me the point of where to split are so small with the graph i see its getting on my nerves is there another programe thats easier where i might actually be able to see where the splits are or even better a programe that can find the splits for me automatically with just a click of the mouse pleas someone nero is a pain well to me it is

you can give Steinberg WaveLab 4 a chance; there is an autosplit funktion in WaveLab; but i think WaveLab is an little bit complicated as nero;
you can also set the (title) markers manually; the markers are continuously viewable; you can easy jump from marker to marker;
here are many threads about WaveLab in our forum, try the search button;

Hi fender62,
why not try the freeware "mp3cut":

h**p://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/

The Cutter
mp3DirectCut

mp3DirectCut is a small tool for editing MPEG audio directly. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to several new files. All without the need to decompress your MP3 into a PCM format. This saves work, encoding time and disk space. And there is no quality loss through any re-compressions!

Trim your CD grabbings or directly to MP3 recorded vinyls or tapes. Cut favorit songs from long MP3 radio or live recordings. Make multiple cuts and fades. mp3DirectCut is very fast and gives you extensive control over your MP3s.

Several prelisten functions
MP3 visualisation and VU meter
Easy navigation
Fading, volume setting and normalizing
Direct recording of MP3 (ACM and Lame encoder supported)
Layer 2 support
ID3 Tag support (v1 editable)
Supports Cue Sheets (as used by EAC or Feurio!)

System requirements

200 MHz
Windows 9x, NT
MP3 ACM Codec or mpglib.dll (mpglib.dll available below!)
Optional: Lame encoder DLL

it's free and easy

so long

Excuses accepted Fender62.
It is very easy. Just select the portion that includes a whole song, cut it, open a new file, paste it and save it.
That´s all.

DO not worry. We are here to help each other.
If you have problems wat getting the exact ponit where a song ends, try zooming in.
Next post will be : I did IT! :) At least I hope so. :)
