can someone tell me if i can upgrade Nero 5.5.10.33 to Nero 6 [or a variable version of Nero 6 - eg, 6.0.1(?)]
itd be great if you could help....

or better yet. does Nero 5.5.10.33 burn DVDs? and if so, does it burn them properly?

write back asap

It's a pay upgrade - though there is a small discount for owners of previous versions (that didn't buy a retail version during the qualifying period)

So if you want Version 6, rake out the old OEM version you got with a burner, it's your ticket to a discount. Best discount seems to be for the download + serial.

Not sure about DVD - I don't have one, so the option (in 5.5.10.42) is greyed out - so it can do DVD, but what it does, no idea.

If it's a BUNDLE version, it will not accept a different drive unless you buy an upgrade key - in which case, you may as well go to V6.

If you buy a retail boxed drive, it should have suitable software anyway.

As I understand it serie's 5 of nero need to be removed then 6 series can then B installed...As a non user of nero The 5.5.10.33 version should do DVD's (does it burn them properly?) Does nero burn anyting properly? Many here have had nero installed and working ok.

yeah uninstall is always a good idea :)

i had to ......lucky for me my system crashed and my restore disks replaced it with good old faithfull 5.9.9.0 :)

had lots of bother with nero 6 bleh and it was slow too painfully slow :(

Yeah,I`ve just been using Nero 6.0.0.1.5 for the first time..Burned a couple of CD-R iso`s with it..no problems so far..:) :)

Nero 6.0.0.15 <=== DVD-Video mode works good ... as for DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) creates coasters in this version of Nero

Nero

Uninstall what ever version you have and keep it uninstalled. There are far better programs out that will do a better job for you than Nero as a quick search on this board will show you.
