I just burned my first DVD-R
I have been trying to get my DVD-ROM readers to read DVD-RWs I burned, (with no success).
I have a Plextor PX-708A firmware 1.01
My Readers are
Toshiba SD-M1402 firmwares 1012, 1810, and XY14
Toshiba SD-M1202 firmware 1028
I used Nero 6.0.0.11 and made a UDF/ISO Joliet compilation
It is one subdirectory with 1292 files. (All these files are different, none are the same as any other).
I have tried several times to make this compilation compatable for my readers using DVD-RWs with no success. (at least they can be burned again)
These are Maxell - Manufacturer...JCV/VictorT7
I then tried this compilation using a DVD-R
These are Memorex - Manufacturer...ProDiscG02
The burn completed successfully. But when I tried the "Verify" option in Nero, it seemed to hang at 85%, but finished eventually.
It gave me this error msg: Data verification failed
So I saved the log and the most obvious words in the log are:
Status summary
Total files=1292, identical=1111, different=1, inaccessible=180, skipped=0.
So then I loaded this DVD-R into my Tosh 1402 and it appears to be able to read this disc. Windows Explorer shows the volume name and all the files just as they are on my HDD from which I burned them.
I haven't tested these files yet, (1292 files, 4.35GB), takes a long time to test/check.
My main question is what gives with Nero "Verifyer"? I used it, (it took an hour), because I knew the DVD-R is perminant, and I wouldn't have another chance to use the verifyer on this disc again.
Thank you for reading this,
Jon
