Nero/TmpgEnc SVCD image corruption

I seem to have developed a problem with Nero (5590 - using 5581 MPEG plugin - which worked ok with Nero 5581) and TMPGEnc (previous version) in generating SVCD mpeg files.

The image in both cases is a mosaic of changing coloured blocks and the sound has a regular (about 1-2Hz) click on it. Sonic's Vega Video creates perfect mpegs from the same DV avi files.

Now, I did upgrade Direct X to v8.1 (do I still need to execute the DV patch for this?) but I can't be certain that that is when the problem started.

Has anyone else encountered and solved a problem like this.

Cheers,
Clive.

firstly you should follow the tutorial from ChickenMan. You don't use Nero to make conversions/encodings for SVCDs.
Just use it to burn them to CD. Use DVD2SVCD or other software mentioned in the tutorials.
