Hi dirty, Welcome to our forum! :)

What will be your destination product, DataCD, VCD, SVCD, DVD?
Wich Windows and wich Nero version are you using? try downloading and installing the latest free update from Ahead's homepage;

Hi duracell, my destination product is vcd my windows is ME and the nero is 6 0 1 9. i have tried installing the new demo of nero but it wont let me it says i am using it illegaly but i am not as it is only a demo?? Also nero doesnt shut down when i dont have my recorder plugged in so i tried plugging it in after it has finished getting the vcd ready but it only lets me use the image recorder. thanks in advance for any help.

Nero video encoder is mostly a joke, and way less a video encoder... try something else (Tmpgenc, CCE, canopus, or EVEN Honestech... all of them are light years better).

you are right about the latest Nero demo 6.3.0.3, it expired at March 04.; Ahead provides currently no working demo;
anyhow, if you have bought v6.0.1.9 you can use v6.3.0.3 as free update;

about Nero's MPEG encoder you can trust scarecrow, better follow our tutorials, esp. this one: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=161

A friend has WinME and after installing Nero the system shoutdown any time it wants and for no reason. He removed nero and has install another version of nero and now both (OS & Nero) works fine.
