Nero Recode 2 - Is it Free or what???

As above, is it free? The reason why I ask this is....

You do not need Nero 6 on your system to install it, I've installed it as per that and Nero Vision Express is attached to Recode too. From the message in NVE I understand that it has to be registered and paid for before the 30 day trial expires. However when you run Recode 2 there are no such warnings that it is a trial or will run out when NVE does. S oanybody know if you will have a fully working Recode 2 after the 30 days or not?

I heard that they put a version on their server that was as you speak, free, but by accident. They quickly pulled it from the server and repaced it with a version that is truly a demo though the version number did not change. So depending on when you downloaded the demo, it may run without any limitations.

Just delete it after 30 days and there will be no issue I'm sure. :)

I've heard good things about Recode 2, but have not tried it yet.

Let us know your findings.

Thanks for info Markbot, I heard this too and what was throwing me was that there is a warning in NVE but no mention in Recode itself of it being a trial. Also I've seen mention on several forums that Ahead said that Recode 2 was a free gift from them to their Nero 6 customers.

Trouble is I've done so much d/l since I had ADSL on the weekend I can't even remember where/when I d/l Recode. lol :D

I'll install it on my other PC tomorrow and shange the system clock and see what happens.

On another note DVD Shrink v3.1 should be out within the next week according to what dvdshrink & ddlooping has said over at digital-digest forums. What a coincidence that Recode 2 has only just been released too. hehe :D

Well tried it earlier by changing the system date and nope it does not work after the trial, so it is the same as NVE then. :(
