Nero Latest Update Problem

HI
This is the problem
I put in a CD
Go select the files and put in new CD compilatioon
NO worries so far
Now the cd size is 614 meg
My C drive has 600 meg free
So go to preferences and select a new drive
Fine you say
It used to do this in old version I usedc my D: drive 2.1 gig free
Well now I select it to use D: drive for cache files and it gets 3/4 way though cache of files and says disk full
When I go and look at WINDOWS\TEMP directory their all these nero temp files on the C: drive
Even though I applied it to use D: drive
MMMM
Will experiment more tomorrow
................................................................................................
MMM
Thanks for reply guys
Yes I know C: drive is getting close to limit of free space
My problem is Nero will not let me make D: drive the Cache drive
IT defaults to C:
OH it used to work fine in a previous version
Anyway looks like a downgrade not upgrade for now
And yes was copying files from hard drive to new CD and files from CD to new CD
Version 5.5.9.6

Are you trying to copy files from one CD to other CD or from hard drive to CD?

If from a CD then you may run into some Copy Protection file and one small file alone can fill up your hard drive no matter if it has 600M or 600G.

If you want to copy 614M from hard drive (drive C:) to CD when them TEMP only has 600M then you get lot of chance to run into disk space problem right there.

Since drive D: has 2.1G free, then why not tell Nero to use Drive D for swapping?

Need more space?

You may need to free up more disk space on DRIVE C: by manually delete all FILES and FOLDERS in \TEMP directory. Some files may have the Attribute set to READ-ONLY (this sucker can cause quite a bit of problem) so you will have to remove the READ-ONLY in order to delete others files after them. If you delete them using Windows Explore or similar (I am not good with it) then you may need to empry the RECYCLE BIN

Good luck!

If u have a version of Nero that supports your burner then stick with it.
So called "upgrading" to a new version only usually results in more bugs and no additional features.
Only upgrade if u have real problems with your present version.

Try installing full version?

I never update Nero. When a new Nero version comes out, I install the full version and use a serial or keygen. I've been using Nero for 2 years with this method. Maybe consider doing a full install, rather than an upgrade (update). This might help, might night ;)

What particular options are you after? If you don't ask you don't get! ;)

I am working on burnatonce 0.90 beta right now which has a lot of new features so maybe you'll find what you need when it is released...

Nero Error Fixed

Well
A happy bunny got some repllies to that question on nero not wanting to use a new cache drive
Well this is what I did
poured myself a scotch and pondered over it for a while and had another.
OK enough of the dribbble
Well I did this
went back in and asked it to use my H: drive 2.3 gig
D: had 1.2 C: had 780 meg
Anyway after using H: all is well
It burnt the disc yes backup successfull
As I mistakenly put in that I had latest version but 5.5.9.6
Yet to test out on 5.5.9.9
Oh to give you an idea of the simptom when it strikes a partion that is crammmed it that you will cut and paste your files to new and it will takes for like ages for them to stream accross and appear ithe the left wiindow pane
Using C: and the D: drive it took like 8 minutes to end up saying disk full
When it finally had plenty of cache space using the H: it took about 2 to 3.5 minutes to move the files
So my tip is to get around this drama in nero go to your preferences and choose your drive partion that has the most room

This happy little bunny is pleased to help when he can
OH hope you guys enjoyed the rock festival and the hospallity of my fellow Austaralian 's (read in another post)
Oh and rember the rules h**p
If we do
We will live longer
