nero doesn't request cd's during audio

First off i'm new to using cdr's, so hello.

been using nero for a few weeks to do audio copies and everything aok.

decided to try burning a compilation from several discs, but contrary to the (possibly) *naff* instructions nero doesn't prompt for discs when burning. it just recopies from the equivalent tracks on the inserted disc.

i've tried varying the options and doing simulations, but cannot get it to prompt me to 'insert disc *'.

am i doing something wrong or is nero just crap?

i have read all the docs and helptool and checked all things are ok.

i don't get any freezes or errors and all straight copies are perfect.

any ideas????

a simple explanation makes things a lot clearer, the docs certainly don't explain it this way.

i only upped to 5572 because of this, so i think i'll go back to the old version and give it a go.

that said, although i've only done 2 cd's with 5572, both play without 'visible' errors on a ten year old akai cd player, an eight year old sony deck, two portable stereo thingy's, 2 cd players, one cdrw and in the car. PHEW!

i'll try the compare prog u suggest as i want to get to know more about using my writer now i've got it.
