Nero completed burn but I can't play DVD

I currently have a Lite-On DVDRW (SOHW-1653S) that has been working brilliantly.

Just recently it has been "rejecting" certain types of DVD's that it previuosly recorded to. And now I seem to have troubles with any kind of successful burn at all.

After Nero completes with a success message, the DVD can not be played on a DVD player, my pc or any other pc.

I get the message "please insert a disk into drive"...

Anyone have any ideas ?

Once upon a time, we were cleaning the laser lens. Cleaning kits do more harm than good, but if you don't know how to open a drive and use compressed air to clean the lens, it may be worth the trouble.
Nowadays, the best solution when something like that is happening, is simply buying a new drive! After all, they haven't become that cheap without a reason!

lol - can we say "disposable"

just had the misfortune in needing to replace one myself while in the middle of a project.
