Nero 6 Ultra Edition Power Pack Upgrade

Product: Nero 6 Ultra Edition Power Pack Upgrade
Get ready to place entire, feature-length films on CD-ROM, while losing little of the video quality and none of the surround-sound effects. At least that's the promise of Ahead Software which, later 2003, will roll out a free Power Pack Upgrade for Nero 6 Ultra Edition optical media burning software. The plug-in will include Nero Recode 2.0 and Nero Digital. The latter is actually a combination of Ahead Software's home-grown MPEG 4 encoding and High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Encoding (HEC-ACC) for 5.1 sound. Nero Recode 2 is DVD transcoding software that, in addition to DVD-5 to DVD-9 conversion will—implementing these new codecs—allow users to take full-length (two hours), non-CSS-encrypted DVD movies and burn them to a single DVD. The high-compression ratios will also, Ahead Software reports, allow users to burn non-copy-protected full-length movies and DVDs to a single CD-ROM, while maintaining 5.1 surround sound. Current Nero 6 owners can also download the HE-ACC encoder plug-in from Ahead Software's Web site when the company makes it available.

@RASTABT Thanx for the news,Ras.Maybe this will go a little way towards restoring our faith in Nero again..But will these `updates` create new problems? :)

Well np folks... still for all you hard core Nero fans in this case Nero's 6 fan's hope Ahead get their act together.
@plextorman......restoring our faith in Nero again If they sat down and tested the product in house with their so called beta tester's we might not have all these issue's with Nero. So they leave it to the likes of the public once again to become beta tester's..As always on paper Nero's statements look good but they never seem to deliver the good's without a hic up or 2,3,4,5,etc :) .

@rastabt Good points- in the company`s early days "Burning ROM" was so damn good.Perhaps they`ve had a look at Microsoft`s "financial success" with releasing "good looking but bloated, buggy, and largely unfinished" software, and thought they might try it themselves.... :D ROTFL!
