Nero 6 problem

I have been using Nero 6 to record a few avi movies from my camera onto DVD. I have a Pioneer 106 DVD-RW drive that is working fine. On certain AVI movies though Nero will start the transcoding and then shut itself down automatically. Its doing it at random time intervals in the transcoding and not giving any error messages. All traces have gone from task manager as well. Other AVI files have worked fine, it just seems to do it with certain files. Does anybody know what it could be?

thank you for the speedy reply. Absolutely been doing my nut over this, I have a funny feeling it could be something to do with the sound thats causing it to cut out. I have found Nero the easiest thing to use and until now i have not found a problem

Oh well, I will have a read through the tutorial and maybe try a different way to do the conversion!

thanks again

Absolutely it may be the easiest, but dont expect a quality conversion. Not to say that any conversion will occur problem free 100% of the time either with other methods, but Nero conversions are not problem free and the quality of its output is quite poor compared to a CCE conversion.

Cheers have now after about 1 month got to the bottom of the problem. I installed CCE, TMPGEnc etc did a few things with it, thanks to the tutorial, and now the movie works fine on DVD. My old dear is now requesting copies for the rest of the family! Great hey. Thats easier though will just use Clone DVD or something, not going through this again.

Thanks again ;)
