Nero 6 and LiteOn LDW411s burn problem

I am using a LDW411s dvd burner in a Athlon1000MHz VIAbased system
running Windows 2000 prof. edition.
The drive is configured as secondary master. It is burning with Sonic MyDVD
on DVD with DVD+R and DVD-R.
It is not burning CD formats with Sonic MyDVD.
It is burning all formats CD-R/RW with Nero 6.
But not DVD any format. The Nero 6 will collect the data, will start
caching and speed detection and also simulation.
When burn starts (or appear like starts) the software give no any other response,
hangs up.

The same thing happens with Sonic MyDVD while trying to burn CD-R.

Is it impossible to use both burning softwares on one system?
Has anybody any hint for me to use only one burning software for
all formats together with LDW411s?
Is there a source for firmware update other than LiteOn?
(I found no better firmware than FS02/FS02b for flashing the burner)

Stay with Nero for your DVD and CDR burning. I would suggest you upgrade to the latest version though as some early versions have had problems.

LiteOn sites have the latest firmware for their drive before any other site possibly can.
