I have just downloaded the new version of nero. it downloaded OK but do not know how to configure it all to use it. As when I try and see what speed it would use for burning it only reads it at 2x speed what am I doing wrong if anything? I use to have it on this computer but had to format the hard drive and basically lost everything. As a friend installed nero for me before I did not take much notice in what he was doing. I know stupid me but what can I say.

Hope someone can help me.

Many thanks

First of all - you do not need to config it - it has to work with the options configured by default.
Second - Can you change the recording speed, are there any other options, or this is the only option that it shows?
Third - Sometimes, after installation, the program nay not find out the maximum speed of your recorder - You have to insert an empty medium that supports at least the maximum recorders speed, and then Nero finds the max speed - after that you can choose many speed options - at least it worked that way on my recorder. (after installation it showed only x32 - when the recorder was x40).

Thanks for the quick reply. I have not tried any cd's in the cd-rom yet maybe that is why I can only get 2x speed. I will give this a try and hopefully get back to you as soon as I can

Thanks again

Artelion,

Thanks again for the quick reply. After the last post I decided to have a further investigation and to my luck I had overlooked a point that I had to do to get the speed of the drives. I finally got this and now does the burn process at 8x speed. Don't know if it will work at this but lets hope for the best.

Thanks again
