Nero 5.5 produces empty CDs on Win2000

Hi,

I have an original serial number for Nero 5.0. Under Win2K (I didn't tested on Win98), I have empty CDs (burnt) for every copy I make with Nero 5.5.5.1 or later.

The produced CD is not readable on Win2K but the label CD is diplayed when inserted on Win98.

Is it a bug of Nero (fixed in 5564) ?
Is it a common blacklisted serial number issue ?

Hi, welocme to the forum.

I had exaclty the same problem myself. Any version above 5.0.0.9 would give me a blank cd with a lable CD when trying to make VCD's.

I now have ver 5.5.5.1 with VCD Update file and it works perfectly every time. I have a legal copy of Nero 5.0.4.2 and use that serial number. I'm running W2K with Service pack 2 and have NOT installed any ASPI layer.

I think your problem is a serial number problem.
