I have just installed nero 5.5.8.2 on windows xp home editon machine and it has started writing coasters. i had nero 5.5.5.6 on it befroe and i worked ok. i have tried uninstalling 5.5.8.2 and puting 5.5.5.6 back on now that writes coasters too. i also have triednturning off xp 's burning engine still same result.

any ideas

I had 5572 and changed to 5582 it did not cause me any problems, I also use xp home.
I did use a reg cleaner before installing the latest version!

When you turned off the xp-burning engine did you make sure that you stopped it running before you changed the settings?

xp burning engine

i just used tweak xp to turn the burning engine off, could it be due to a backlisted serial ? if so how do i get rid of it

Try this one

I disabled the burning program by doing this.

Services Utility

Click on Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools then Services. This will popup your Services utility. From here, you can disable and enable services that run on your computer.
IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service (DISABLE) -Used for the Built-in windows xp CD burn capability.

It is worth turning off error reporting and automatic updates here as well.

still burning coasters

have tried this keygen still same result, tried to read the disk with isobuster and it said primary volume discriptor is unreadable.

Use a download manager and try to download it again, if that fails I am sure others must have had the same problem.
I hope someone else can help you out.

If you have not used a download manager before put flashget in the search engine above and you will find lots of links.

cheers but i have downloaded it a few times now it works ok on my xp pro system, but no on my laptop with home editon on it , i think it might be time to format and load xp pro!!
