Need to know best video capture card

I have an ALL in wonder 128 card, but the TV sound captured is hissy and video quality is poor

I have an AMD Athlon 700, what is a good capture card to capture TV e.g. MTV etc

Thanks

AverMedia TV Studio is a very good card.

Some Canopus and Aviosis (err could be wrong on spelling lol) are also good. For the money though, I think AverMedia give best bang.
Dazzle is good but you need their more expensive cards for anything descent and Pinnacle is just crap (especially their driver support).

Good luck, hope that helps.

PS
vcd help has a list and feedback, but they aren't very good or consistant at what they post there.

Shadoe,

I agree about vcdhelp.com , but remember it is user opinions, you get the technical and the non technical posting.. :) look at the thread for the Sony DRU-500 v Pioneer, people seem more obsessed with brand names than any kind of technical ability in the drives... :D

Do Canopus make TV tuners!? as far as I know they specialise in mpeg/DV capture cards without tuners. I'm thinking of getting their ADVC-100 a capture/DV converter..

well as far as the people using the Canopus cards go Strahlem, the raptor cards can also capture from tv sources. I haven't really tested them out myself (as not popular here) but I do hear from some people on another board about it.

The ADVC-100 looks good, but check with some others & if you can actually see it working at the shop before you buy.
Also check for driver support for your particular OS.
That was 1 of the big hurdles many go through with any capture card. How well it functions with win2K or winXP.
Am assuming ofcourse that not many are using win9x for these things (als better if you're on NTFS system).
