need help with splitting dvd to 2

i want to split my dvd that is over 4.7gb to 2 discs i thoguht that if i just burn vob1-2-3-4 to one disc and the rest to other it will be ok but the nero didnt start to burn because he wants the other vob's as well so how can i do it ?

if someone can put me a name for a program and please put me a link for some guide becasue i know ill have problems other wise . (a link for the program will be handfull as well)

Easiest way is with dvdx copy.It will split your dvd to 2 discs all done by 1 click.Not saying this is the best way but its pretty easy even for me.

it is possible to do it your way fibola ...but u have to create new ifos for each disc ... u can´t use the old ones ....

Yes like elpresidente wrote, you have to create new ifos (to author) and then burn as new dvd the first and then the same job for the second.
bertieg wrote about DVDxCopy and he has right, it makes all the job alone, the other way (manual split) and create ifos is a headache and if you want more audio tracks and subtitles then is a terrible head.

DVDXCopy is the most powerful to copy 1:1 or DVD-9 to DVD-5 x 2 DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW. The software will spit 4 U the 2nd disc.
So simple and easy.

so , i do i create new ifo , maybe this is my problem i do copy to ifo's files and made them get vts sector is it enough ?
if it isnt please tell me where there is a guide to make (p.s i already done it with to movies and it worked, so i realy dont know if this is the problem.)

about the dvdxcopy i tried to split pearl harbor but i get a message : error reading source drive . - i think it some kind of the cd defense)

no defense on dvd.
Try playing the movie first for 30 secs before running dvdx copy.
This can work for any program that reads (rips) the dvd.
Obviously turn the player off before starting your ripper.
