when encoding avi files with nero version 5.9.9.9 it will encode about 50% then just slow right down, it did work ok, a movie took 2-3 hours to encode, now it takes for ever, what can i do, i've uninstalled reinstalled entered new reg#, tried everything, please help.

lol i went back to 5.5.9.6 i couldnt even get this build past the splash screen so i gaveup and downgraded and not had no bother since! and yeah like poko says nero is pants for vcd encoding its great for making vcds and svcds after the files are converted with sumthing else 
i'm new to all this, and not that experienced so any help would be great, thanks.

It will take many hours to convert from .AVI to MPEG before it can burn to CD as S/VCD, and the S/VCD should work on computer but might/not work with stand alone DVD player (or computer can play many different formats when stand alone DVD player can only play 100% MPEG-1 and MPEG-2).woolyferret said:
I have only tried twice (gave up one) and I can say it isn't worth to spend hours of converting (TMPGenc is probably a better tool too), so you may just burn the .AVI as DATA instead of VCD
i finally reinstalled an earlier version, and have burnt 3 movies without any problems, so i hope the problem is fixed, thanks to all the people who replyed to my message, you were all a help.
