Hi,ive bought a 60 gig ibm deskstar about a month ago,i installed xp home in the ntfs file system,but now i want to do a split partition so i can have windows me[fat32] and xp home [ntfs],because some games like the old camand and conquer,just wont work on xp,but when i use the xp cds partition manager the only options it gives me is ntfs quick or ntfs,theres no options for fat32 whys that,because my last 20 gig ibm deskstar used to give me the fat32 option,maybe large harddrive dont support fat32,i dont know anyway hope someone can help me out.

I suggest you use Partition Manager 7 XP to create your partitions with.
Its not that your harddrisk doesnt support it - its just that the pratition manager program u used isnt very good.
Try and locate the above software
Alternatively
If you plan to dual boot. ME and XP
It might be best to install ME first then XP.
Either way you should make your partitions first.
If you plan to resintall your pc ... ie removing your existing XP install followed by installing ME and XP (again)
You can boot up in DOS with a ME setup boot disk and use FDISK to delete exisiting partitions, and make new ones.
When you come to install ME, select the first partition and ME would format the partition appropriately ie FAT32.
Same goes when you install XP, in the second partition, XP will format (by default) NTFS (you can specify otherwise)

Hey thanks Shadey,i just got hold of partition magic from a friend,so im about to give it ago,you know i thought the windows partition manager was a good one,anyway ill have to try to work this partition magic 7 out looks like a good program,anyway thanks a lot youve really helped me out.
