I have AVI movies that I wish to encode, I used TMPGEnc, quiet good program but a little complicated, I was wondering if anyone can help me, I want to encode these AVI's so they come out with just as good quality as long as the files are not over 1.4GB, sometimes the fast action scenes come out real crappy, what can I do to make these scenes come out better?

These AVI files are DVD2AVI, now I want to encode it to anything else so I can burn them using a DVD authoring tool. My friends dad has 3 movies on one DVD disk, I dont know what tools and methods he used to create this DVD, but I suspect they are MPG files and burnt using a DVD authoring tool, but all the videos have real good quality, there is no jerky scenes at all, I want to know how this is possible.

Not with this description of an AVI but

AVI_to_DVD_Tutorial

will help to get U going <> to get 3 full size movies on 1 DVD U will have to change CD size (1.4 GB is about right) <> then use an authoring program to make menus etc (my preference is DVD Lab)

However despite what U say the 3 movies are NOT very good quality just play that DVD on a big screen TV I dont know why one would want to have 3 full films on a DVD if one wants the best quality!

Covered this a bit in your other thead but simply selecting 1.4GB's for each movie may not be such a good idea. I mean one movie might be 250mins and another 100. Also certain movies are simply more compressable than others.
