SMART does not always catch impending malfunctions. DFT has helped me find my hd was malfunctioning. I kept having crashes but I did not have any msgs indicating my hd was at fault...

This is an interesting looking utility. Thanks for suggesting it, Gilbert. How's Montreal this week? I used to live on Rue St. Marc, Mount Royal and last on Clairemont St south of Westmount years ago.
