nec1300a not burning dvd-r

hello chaps and chapets i have a problem when i first got my nec1300a everything was well till i tried to burn bulkpack x4-r disks at the time the dvd writer had 1.05 firmware so i upgraded it and bingo it saw the disk in the drive then i installed dvdxcopy and brilliant now the firmware now it doesnt burn anything it some times come back with phase error so i upgraded the firmware to the very latest one and still no joy the player will write cdr's but will not see dvd-r's blanks i use nero 6 which gives the phase error and also why does dvd shrink on my pc switch off when i press the back up button im useing xp with sp2 if you have any ideas let me know

you are giving the answer to yourself;

conflicting burning drivers;


this is what you have to do now:
1. it would be helpful to disable "Automatic Restart": right click at My Computer > properties > enlarged > start and restoring (i'm not sure about the english terms)
so you will get a BSOD instead of a reboot; in the first three lines of the BSOD the trouble causing driver/software is named;

2. disable IMAPI: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=32137

3. uninstall Nero and all other burning software;

4. download and apply Ahead's Clean Pack: http://www.ahead.de/en/631938356417810.html

5. reinstall Nero, reboot;

6. update Nero to the latest free version: http://www.ahead.de/en/updates.html , reboot;

7. do a test burn with Nero and attach the Nero log file here, so we can look for conflicting drivers; the Nero log file is called "NeroHistory.log" and is stored in the Nero program folder; when posting the file please delete out your Nero serial number;
