I've tried to burn some video TS files using several types of blank dvd discs with nero 6 with all updates installed but last screen it comes up with message scsi command aborted or just freezes my whole system.
And tried dvdsanta but don't seem to reconize my nec drive.
I used ulead movie factory to convert.
Please help somone

it may be a media problem; What media are you using? have a look for recommended media here in our forum;

some recommendations more:
- update to the latest free Nero version: http://www.nero.com/en/updates.html
- do a test burn with Nero and attach the Nero log file here, so we can look for conflicting drivers; the Nero log file is called "NeroHistory.log" and is stored in the Nero program folder; when posting the file please delete out your Nero serial number;

O.K. your drive is supported since Nero 5.5.10.9;
anyhow updating to the lastest free Nero 5 shouldn't harm: http://www.nero.com/en/nero-up_vor.php

File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.71 (0001)
better switching back to old 4.6 by using ForceASPI 1.7;
have a look at this: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=32137

File 'Drivers\nvidesm.sys':
here is the most probable culprit; in Device Manager go to the IDE controller's properties choose "Update" > choose the M$ standard drivers instead of the nVIDIA crap; reboot, enable DMA, reboot again;

then try your luck again and repost the fresh Nero log; :)

no need to download, they are already integrated in Windows; you have just to assign them manually; see pic below:

Mr Chris

Guys, im pulling my hair out here and probably got myself completely confused. I have an NEC 1100A DVD Burner which i used initially to burn family vids off digi camcorder and for burning larger amounts of data for storage. My puter (running xp pro) crashed a couple of months back, so the system is now basically fresh, void of updates and drivers etc. Each time i use either Nero or another DVD copying software, i get told that my hardware is not installed correctly. I must be missing a point here as this is only reported when using DVD-R discs, but it seems to work when i used DVD - R/W

Going to be simple for you to answer so please forgive my ignorance but help and old guy out here please.

many thanks

The NEC ND1100A is a DVD +R/+RW (and rather slow CD-R/CD-RW) drive only - if you are feeding it -R media, that may be disguising the real problem

Hi cflack :)

please do a test burn with Nero and attach the Nero log file here, so we can look for problems; the Nero log file is called "NeroHistory.log" and is stored in the Nero program folder; when posting the file please delete out your Nero serial number;
