my source CD broke while using Clone CD

Hav u had any idea why my source CD (Virtual Pool3) suddenly broke up into pieces inside my TEAC CD-ROM when i did back-up using Clone CD at "maximum" read speed setting?
I did recover only about 97% of the source data using my Creative Blaster 24x10x40 CD-RW.
It's an odd thing really, but am still using my TEAC CD-ROM this time so far after 4 days that thing happened.

More nfo re: source cd broke.....

using Clone CD v3.3.4.1
Source Media used: silver (Virtual Pool 3 v. 3.0.7.7)
CD-ROM: Teac 60x
OS: win ME

This can happen with a 60x drive, they turn really fast and the centrifugal forces are enormous. This has nothing to do with CloneCD or any other software.

You must be happy that your drive is still working after that

I recommend to read cd's at a maximum of 40x, it's still fast enugh

Try to use a slow-down programm like cdbremse.
