My PC can't read these DVDs

Hi
I've bought some nstc factory pressed Dvd video( from asia holliday trip) that I'm trying to rip to my harddrive but my PC wont recognize it.
However they plays fine on my home dvd player. The dvd-rom units of the computer keeps trying to read it without success.
This dvd isn't being read by the pc at all. I'm unable to browse it.I've tried it on three other PC's with dvd rom, dvd writers The readers writers continuously try to read it but without success. Power DVD say Nodisc, WinXP say windows can't read this format, it not compatible
However my home dvd player plays it without a hitch, got all sound and picture.
Is this new protection ??? Any suggestion ..

Thank

As Poacher says ... most likely the Region Code.

You could try a trial copy of AnyDVD from Slysoft .... this will make all your optical drives region free, plus some other nice features.

Strange...

Hi

It is not region ,because one of DVD ROM is region free, it is dsl 710 out of hiteker AD600A DVD player. They are NTSC format, My stand alone DVD also region free, Conia M380.Just curious ,because the Conia not use IDE loader so I could not take it out to test on my PC, but as I said I've try on 3 Pc's without suceed.

Thank

@ hien,

In a computer booth the DVD-ROM and the software player region protection needs to be set to RPC-1 (region free). In short setting the computer DVD-ROM to RPC-1 (region free) only corrects half of the problem. You have to also ensure that your software player software is also set to RPC-1 (region free). You need a software tool like DVD Region Killer or DVD Genie or similar program to bypass your software player software region protection and reset it to RPC-1 (region free).
