music cdr won't play

I recorded a music cd that plays fine in my pc but it will not play in my audio system. I know my audio system can play cdrs because I tried other cdrs before and they play good.
I am using a philips cdrw with cdrwin 5.1. win 98se. 800mhz.
any ideas?.
thank you

Hey bud.... CDRW's are pesky lot. They are not always the best for compatability because of the lower reflectance layer.

Have you tried this particular CDRW in another CD player? Is it multi-session? Any other of your Phillips CDRW's do this or is it just this one?

Hi; is not a cdrw disc, is a reguar cdr disc. I was refering to my cd writer when I wrote " philips cdrw".
My cd is not multisession, I just recorded about 15 songs and then I closed the cd. the cds I am using the brand is princo ( maybe I need a better cd).
Like I said it will play in a pc, I tried it in 2 pcs actually and it plays fine
but it won't play in my audio system, which I know it can play cdr discs.
thank you

Nothing wrong with Princo's.. I must have burnt 1000's of them without problems. That said I would still try some different media just to see.

have you tried it in another system/stereo ?!

It may just be a case of the lazer in the cd player/stereo that u are using is not strong enough to read that brand of cdr !?

I know loads of people who have this problem !? ... even me it works fine in my SONY but not in the J.V.C and the J.V.C. is newer !?

I'm with scarecrow.... I don't like Princo CDR's. I have had too many compatability problems with them on other players..... like I suspect you are having.

All I can say is try the burn again, but slow the burn speed down to 16x or 8x. If you still have problems, try another brand as was suggested. I personally have found Taiyo Yuden CDR's to be excellent for compatibility so long as they are not burned at top speed.

Nice for you that the Princos work, but personally I'd rather opt for something else. I have burned 30 of them in the past, no real coasters, but while they all play on my Sony CD Player (not such a big deal, everything I have thrown in works) thwy don't work in a cheap protable and a car changer.
But the biggest problem is that after 5 months or so they began peeling off.
It also seems that the dye used on Princos is dying pretty soon- at least they are almost top-rated diers at the media dedicated CD-RW.org forum:

Personally I rate them "almost" the worst media I have used, after CMC which are total and hopeless crap.

maybe it's only a misapprehension, but:
a standard Red Book compatible AudioCD has to be written in "Disc At Once" mode and must be closed during the first burning session;

Duracell you re righr, but session at once should play it too!!!!!!!But thise princo and cmc---tHOSE ARE GARBAGE!!!!!!!tHROW`EM AWAY!!!!!!

Hi; yes I will try another brand, that princo cd came with my cd recorder. I will check for " Disc At Once" mode and burn it at lower speed.
Thank you all for your help, I'll see if it goes better now.
