Multisession burning after capturing (Nero Ultra 6)

Hi All,

I am Using "nero ultra 6" to capture and burn my movies. What I do is that I turn on my camcorder and then I run nero and then I use "photo and video" button to capture the tape which uses the "nero vision express" and there is no any Multisession option in there (I know there is one in nero burning rom).

My question is that is it possible to use Multisession feature using "nero vision express" just after you capture the tape? Since nero ultra 6 only allows you to use "nero vission express" to capture I can not use other programs such as nero burning rom to capture and burn. Therefore I can't use the multisession option.

thanks

If you're talking about DVD, then multisession is a Nero-specific pervertion- it does not comply to any book standard, and the sessions are readable only within Nero and a couple of other lucky shots... NEVER in a standalone.

Yes I am talking about DVD, That is fine because I am gonna buy it anyway(i am using the trial version now). So do you think if there is anyway to capture with nero ultra 6 and use multisession to burn it as "DVD Video"?

"DVD Video" multisession simply does NOT exist, nor it will ever be! Multisession is sort-of-usable only for data DVD's, and even that is way outside the OSTA UDF specifications. Your standalone will be able to read just the last session, or quite possibly NONE of the burned sessions.
Multisession is really just for CD's and should NOT exist in Nero for DVD's... just pick track at once mode, and leave the track open, so you can add more data later. This way your burned DVD will be 100% book compliant. But in any case, Video DVD's should be burned in one go- else they might not be playable in any standalone.

I keep getting a few problems... I have some Indian / Traditional tracks...
They are about 20 to 30 mins long, sometime tracks a even longer...

What my problem is that selecting them track on nero on to making a AUDIO CD.. Works fine until it gets to a certain percentage and buffers drop... and throws an error..

What a waste of CD... What is causing that.. I am using NERO v6.3.0.2...

Oh I nearly forgot my CD Writer is Burn-Proof And on a SCSI... I also have the latest ASPI drivers installed No Such Luck....

HELP!!!.... :(:(:(

hi Scarecrow, yes it's me...i tried what you said and this is the feedback:

I selected the dvd-rom(udf) in new compilation window. under the Burn option, write method has been set to "disk at once" and is grayed out but fortunately "finalize dvd", which is grayed out as well, is not selected. So I added one video file then I added another video file by selecting continue multisession disc and so forth.

But the problem is that the final movie has alot of still pictures and interuptions(I must add that these movies have been captured through firewire using nero vision express in AVI format) and nero can not play these movies which have been burned through above procedure, unless I open the E: drive and directly click on them and in this case the above problem exists.

I converted the movies to MPEG and VOB using TMPGEnc Converter and Author then I tried to add the dvd movie in new compilation window but I got this message:

"you have added DVD-Video content to a compilation type that will not result in a DVD-Videocompliant disc. To create discs playable in standalone dvd players please use the dvd-video compilation type"

any comments please.

thanks

mojo8850: This version that I use is the trial one but I don't think the retail package will do that either.

The other thing I can suggest is try PINNACLE STUDIO v8/9.. Friend of mine uses it he thinks its fantastic...

UDF has no sessions, so naturally DAO is greyed out... just add what you like, and then finalize disk.
Mojo: first deflate your MP3 files to wav on HD, and then use Nero to burn the .wav files. Should work this way.

yes probably because I did not finalaize the dvd that is why i get those still pictures and interuptions. I am gonna try it now. But what I can't understand is that Nero does not understand the VOB files (I guess that is because I don't have the nero video plug-in which you have to buy seperately, if i am right). In this case that I don't have the video plug-in, files are in real time (AVI) and need alot of space in DVD. BY the way I made a movie of the captured file by Nero vision express, using Windows Movie Maker and I could burn it to a CD and it works fine and the quality is very good.

If I get any new experience i will post in here for other people incase they are interested.

Anyway thanks for your messages.

just thought to add my experience with nero, up here. As Scarecrow said before do NOT TRY MULTISESSION for DVD's. Instead capture your movies using nero vision express and save them to your HD (you have to have planty of space for your final movie in your HD, 40 minutes takes around 12 GB Space). when you are done and in another day probably or on the same day :)..LOL.. when you have time then call up the nero vision express, go ahead and add your files and proceed to burn your dvd.

In this case I did not have the audio when I tried to play the final dvd using nero show time but I could play it with WMP with a little trouble (double click on the titles to play in WMP window). Quality of the sound and picture are excellent. Just to remind you, you should have the necessary plug-in for windows to play the dvd. And this is the way to go.

any comments are welcome.

Help Me

Hi I burned a new data dvd with about 950mb of data with Nero 6
it showed fine at first when viewing the files which are mainly Jpegs . Now I can still see half the pictures near to the start of the disk I think but other files are still there named and size right but I get no picture priview whatsoever . Our the files lost or is there a way of geting them back?

all so Nero now thinks the disk is a cd and wants to overburn it.
