Multisession and DVD

I am trying to use Nerocmd to burn a multisession cd so I can put it in a batch file and let is run. What I want it to do is at the end of the day have it pull files from a certain dir and save it to a DVD+R. But it is failing, I keep getting error

[-] Invalid field in command

last detected media: unknown
requested media: DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW.

My current command for the 1st burn is:

nerocmd --write --real --drivename e --detect_non_empty_cdrw --recursive --dvd --iso test c:\1

my 2nd command to continue burning is :

nerocmd --write --real --drivename e --detect_non_empty_cdrw --import --recursive --dvd --iso test c:\2

The dire will always be the same but I am just testing it to see if it will add each dir to the same disk. It does on DVD+RW, I can keep adding files to it, but on DVD+R I get the errors above. I can go through Nero Burning Rom and get it to burn to a DVD+R with no problems, it just fails on nerocmd on the 2nd burn. I have emailed Nero several times and I get no response and I need help getting this resolved. Anybody have any ideas? I have been asked on other forums about packet writing, that is not an option anymore.

If packet writing is not an option then Nero's non book standard "multisession DVD" shouldn't be one, either... That said, I believe you have to use a -R disk for multisession (I was told so by a Nero user, I don't use Nero myself), the reasons are probably an Ahead secret...

With the Plextor USB drive it does not support DVD-R/RW for multisession. So I am stuck using DVD+R/RW... the RW works fine, but it is having issues with the 2nd save on DVD+R

Not really in the intricacies of USB drives, I don't have such a drive myself... but even other apps, like say K3B ( a Linux application) which I'm using all the time, can burn that odd, out-of-specs "DVD multisession" on DVD-R, but for some reason I don't know NOT on +R. So far the only rewritable DVD medium I've used is DVD+RW, and I did not have such problems- although I attempted burning "DVD-multisession" just once.
