multi dvds on one dvdr

anyone heard of multi dvds whereby you can have 3 quality movies on one dvdr.It gives you a title screen at the start and you have the option of selecting which film you wish to watch. I would like to know how to do such movies

Yeah, get about 3 posts per day on it at another forum.

There are many different ways to do it, but put simply for 3 movies just make sure that they are at most 33% the size of the media and then author.

Often though such movies are just (S)VCD's on DVD. For 3 movies I think that you would really be pushing it with full DVD res.

Is there a way to to burn two or three SVCD movies to one DVD-R ?
And if so, do you have the link on how to do this ?

Thats a contidiction in terms. You can have 1 quality movie per DVDR or 3 movies per dvdr, not both ways.

I encode 2 avi's to dvd compliance and put on a DVDR with simple menu. I do that all the time as avi's are poorer quality to a dvd and I would really be wasting a good dvdr on each avi. As C_D said, encode to 1/3 or 1/2 of the size of the dvdr, then you need to author each in Maestro, DVDLab, or similar adding a simple menu. I make my Menu in PaintShop Pro using the 2 DVD Front covers which become the 2 buttons when authoring in Maestro.

Actually if you are going to compress the crap through something, then the cleaner the source the better.

When something already has lots of artifacts, then you have to waste bits preserving them whilst also trying not to introduce too many more. Where as if the source is clean then you only have to worry about not introducing new artifacts.

Then try authoring in Maestro or DVDLab, you will find Menu making substantially easier.

@tommyis3 if chicken man deems it good enough and gives it his approval would you mind us adding it to our tutorials if chickenman WATERMARKS any diagrams etc with your user name as he has done his own !?

We feel it would be a great help to our users out there :)

I actually re-encode 2 AVI's to put both onto 1 DVDR. I have done that many times and retains the original AVI quality. Putting 3 per DVDR would be lowering quality to low for my liking.

I just use my AVI to DVDR tutorial but set the CD size to 2200 ( 1/2 of the 4400) in the Bitrate Tab of DVD2SVCD. You can do the same with a DVD input of course. I make a menu (a simple JPG file) in Paint Shop Pro and author all in Maestro or DVDLab. Pretty simple really once your done it a couple of times.
