mpg file muxing new audio file

I have an mpg video file that i want to put a new audio file to.

I converted my mp3 to an mp2 but can't seem to mux the mpg and mp2 together.

i know the mpg already has audio in it and i would like to replace it with a new audio stream, but how?

You can use Found Forge 6. It can open mpegs and avis then you can edit, import new audio file, delete or ..... and then save as mpeg or avi or seperate the audio and video files or....
Adobe Premiere many other spftwares can do this too!

i can open the mpg and put new audio in but when i choose MPEG2 option it comes up with an error. I have to save it as MPEG1 but it seems to recode it as it's taking ages.

is it possible to manipulate video in sound forge?

Sound Forge is audio editor, you can open avi or mpeg files and work with the audio but not the video! Adobe Premiere can do this or Ulead Media (pro) and any Video editor can work with both audio and video!

Use tmpgenc or wombles and de multiplex the mpeg.
You will have to encode your new audio stream to make it compatible with your original mpeg.(depending on if it was a vcd or svcd or other).
You can do this with tmpgenc, although it will probably take an hour or so and then multiplex the files back together.
You will also probably get audio sync problems.
There is a Chickenman tutorial to help solve these.
Good luck! ;)

I have done the same thing myself.
But by accident! ;)
Hollowman with Disneys Dinosaur soundtrack is a very bizarre experience. lol! :D
