Mpeg2

VirtualDubMod should be able to handle it; for video select "full processing mode" and for audio "direct stream copy mode";
But why will you convert it back to a bloated/uncompressed format? :confused:

Because I want to convert them to SVCD so I can use 'em on CD. Do you have any other way to convert them or I have to use virtual???
I tried to use DVD2SVCD but it does't work. Thanks :eek:

SVCD is MPEG2 (just another resolution+bitrate); decoding and re-encoding would mean quality loss;

DVD2SVCD should be the suitable tool; What was the problem?

Sorry and sorry. The files that I have are....
1- Xvid
2-mpg
I am so sorry that gave you wrong info.
If I had two files as above I want to make them as avi......can I? and if yes what Program I should use? Thank. :eek:

So if the XviD isn't an avi what container does it use? mkv? ogm? mp4?
If you do use VDubMod, then set video to fast recompress, be aware that mpg files generally aren't 1:1 so you either need to resize the avi or set it with the same PAR/DAR as the mpg.

If you are going for a SVCD though then there really is no need to convert to avi's. Just convert directly to a SVCD compliant mpeg.
