mpeg2 svcd problem

Get VCDGear (it's free), and run it with the "Fix Mpeg" box checked.
It should fix up the file.
What you've done in the cutting, is remove it's EndOfFile and/or StartOfFile checkbyte system. WMP errors out because it can't tell where the beginning and/or end of the file really is.

A lot depends on what you use to cut the mpeg2 file with. I'd only recommend MPEG2VCR (commercial product) and MPEG2Cut(freeware). Also, burn them to CD using VCDEasy, as Nero can create the problems your experiencing with svcd mpeg2 files.
